CITRUS HEIGHTS, CA - A man suspected of shoplifting at the Wal Mart on Antelope Road in Citrus Heights took a bite out of the deputy trying to arrest him Tuesday night.
Deputy Jason Ramos of the Sacramento County Sheriff's Department said 20-year-old Breyon Wilson was caught shoplifting by loss prevention personnel who deatined him at the store until deputies arrived.
When deputies showed up, Wilson attempted to run away, then struggled with authorities. As deputies were attempting to control him, Wilson bit one of them on the arm, Ramos said.
Wilson was finally subdued and arrested.
The bitten deputy was taken to a local hospital for treatment, but did not suffer significant injuries as a result of the bite.
Wilson was booked at the Sacramento County Main Jail on charges of mayhem, battery on a peace officer, resisting an executive officer, committing a crime while out on bail, and theft. He is currently being held on $125,000 bail.
